Personality & Stress - Make It Manageable
Are you an Introvert? Extrovert? Ambivert? Or some unrecognizable mix?
Stepping out into a new or unfamiliar space is not easy for many people. It can cause a lot of anxiety.
From the invitation. Through the prep work. The night before results in lost sleep. And up to the minute of, during, and those few minutes following...
Nothing. But. Stress.
Did you know that many health symptoms, ailments, and autoimmune issues can be traced back to stress as a trigger?
How we deal with stress can be embedded in our personality. Whether an introvert or extrovert, we all need to learn coping mechanisms and daily habits that help us combat the challenges we face every single day.
Most of my adult life, I struggled with health and weight issues. I always assumed the stress (and there was a lot of it!) was manageable - came and went.
Little did I know, it was the stress that was a main killer of my health. Now stress doesn't just go away, but with some control in different areas, both, the response to stress and health can improve.
Overcoming stress and challenges can be simple, just one step at a time. For me, as an introverted extrovert, some social interactions are huge stressors that set off a domino effect of one emotion after another, from sweating, to headaches, and even nausea. As I explore new spaces with my own consultancy there are many things to explore - from live Zooms, podcast interviews, learning new technology and each platform's challenges. But I have learned, and continue to learn, that eventually I get to my goals with small steps! :)
Big change comes from small habits, done consistently.
Start simple.
Stay consistent.
